Yakuza has finally made its debut on a Nintendo console as of today with the launch of Yakuza Kiwami. Announced during August's Nintendo Indie World + Nintendo Partner Showcase presentation, the game has arrived digitally on Nintendo Switch with an MSRP of $19.99. You can get a look at the game in this launch trailer:
Yakuza Kiwami follows the exploits of mob tough guy Kiryu, whose heart of gold and sense of morality often finds him at odds with his fellow Yakuza, rival clans, and numerous other residents of the fictional Japanese district of Kamurocho. This stylized take on real-world Kabukicho is rife with foes to brawl, food to eat, arcade games to play, alcohol to drink, and a bunch of different pastimes in between. And karaoke. Always, karaoke.
If you've yet to launch into the series, Yakuza Kiwami might be the perfect jumping on point. Note that while the game is releasing digitally today, a physical version is also being made available by Limited Run Games and will release at some point in March of 2025. These physical copies are also available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
