An eight-part event that will take place across the X-Men family of books.
The X-Men are gearing up for a new line-wide crossover early next year. X-Manhunt kicks off in Uncanny X-Men #11 on March 5, 2025. The eight-part crossover will be split across the following series and issues:
The event sees longtime X-Men leader Professor Charles Xavier on the run following his escape from Graymalkin Prison. Here's more about what to expect, straight from Marvel:
The saga kicks off when Professor X breaks out of Graymalkin Prison, sowing division and discord among the different mutant factions. For his crimes against humanity at the end of the Krakoan Age, Charles Xavier remains a heavily-guarded inmate at a mutant detention center built at his former school, a cruel punishment he was willing to accept—until now!
Driven by mysterious new purpose, Professor X frees himself from captivity to undertake a mission of personal significance. He has no time to lose as a telepathic virus wreaks havoc on his mind—and those around him!
During the course of the story, Xavier will try to call upon the numerous factions and members of the X-Men to aid him. However, given the (highly manufactured) "bad guy" status that Xavier has had foisted upon him in recent years, not everyone is quite so willing or happy to help him out. By the time fans get to X-Manhunt Omega, Xavier will make a "tectonic-shifting choice" that will impact all of mutantkind.
Whether or not this will bring the X-Men more into line with the expectations that fans had before From the Ashes began remains to be seen, but here's hoping X-Manhunt will (finally) be the course correction most readers have been looking for.
