The dynamic duo behind the iconic Hush storyline is making a comeback.

Ho-ho-hold the phone, people—Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee are coming back to Batman next year. The scuttlebutt has been spreading across the interwebs for a little while now and it has everyone talking. While there was initially some excitement generated by Chip Zdarsky coming to Batman following a successful Daredevil run, that momentum came to a screeching halt after the outlandish ending of the writer's Failsafe arc, followed up by the very underwhelming Catwoman crossover series Gotham War. Sadly, things just never quite worked out for Zdarsky on his run and sales have allegedly been slipping, as a result. With DC All In now officially underway, it seems the publisher is keen to right the ship on its biggest series.

Loeb and Lee, you might recall, were the creators of the beloved 2003 story arc Hush. An instant classic (although not without some detractors), the series has been a mainstay both in terms of being a perennial best-seller as well as influencing the Batman mythos as a whole across various forms of media. The thought of Loeb and Lee returning for a followup story is something fans have wanted for years, but with the industry suffering from an absolute dearth of good stories, it might be integral to DC's survival as much as anything else.
Alas, DC has not yet made this news official, but once we learn the exact details, we'll be sure to let you know. In the meanwhile, if you've yet to read Hush, DC has been publishing little $9.99 trade paperbacks of classic series and runs under the Compqct Comics banner.
