Half a dozen employees were cut.
Rocksteady laid off another half-dozen employees at the end of 2024 according to Eurogamer. Employees at the beleaguered game developer revealed the news to sources at the website. This follows a round of layoffs in September after the disastrous failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was much maligned for its questionable portrayal of the DC pantheon as well as lackluster gameplay. Parent company Warner Bros., itself billions of dollars in debt, credited a large portion of the blame for its $200 million losses in Q4 of 2023 to the failure of Suicide Squad.
It's unclear how many people were impacted by the layoffs at Rocksteady back in September, but it's believed that a number of workers were let go, particularly from Rocksteady's QA department, Rocksteady's misfortune is blamed by many a fan on various issues relating to the culture wars, a topic that many mainstream news sites continue to either ignore or downplay when reporting on the numerous layoffs and studio closures plaguing the industry.
