"Classic games and the mission to safeguard them for future generations have always been at the core of our work."
Good Old Games is continuing its noble fight to preserve the history of video games. Its latest move to further this goal has come in the form of a partnership with European Federation of Game Archives, Museums, and Preservation Projects (EFGAMP). EFGAMP is (as its name so astutely suggests) a federation of organizations that strive for "the preservation of digital games and other interactive experiences."
With this move, GOG has allied itself with a range of likeminded groups that are doing everything they can to keep classic video games alive and well for players across generations and all around the world. As GOG put it, "Classic games and the mission to safeguard them for future generations have always been at the core of our work." Partnering with EFGAMP simply expands the range of games and reach of GOG to greater levels, something that will likely benefit game preservation greatly.
